Repeated facial movement over time can contribute to the development of lines and creases. At Admire Dentistry, we provide consultations to explore treatment options aimed at softening these dynamic areas while preserving natural expression.
These services are delivered with a focus on proportion, function, and individuality—always prioritising patient comfort and informed decision-making.

Following a wrinkle reduction consulation, you might notice some mild redness, swelling, or slight bruising at the affected site. These effects are usually temporary and should subside within a few days. You can use mild analgesics, e.g. panadol if needed and light, intermittent ice application for swelling. It’s advisable to avoid strenuous exercise, excessive sun exposure, and alcohol for 24 hours after the procedure.
A list of things to avoid is outlined below:
Rub, massage or manipulate the treated area for 24 hours – including having facials, applying/removing make-up or washing rigorously
Perform exercise or drink alcohol for 24 hours
Lay down (including for massages) or sleep for 5 hours
Undertake any other facial procedures, e.g. laser, microdermabrasion, chemical peels etc, for two weeks
Wrinkle reduction consulation using Botulinum Toxin Type A. Botulinum Toxin Type A is derived from the bacteria Clostridium Botulinum – brand names include Botox®, Dysport® and Xeomin® – but there are no bacteria in it at all.
These are pharmaceutical-grade, purified proteins that deliver very predictable results accurately and with very few potential side effects.
Botulinum Toxin works by blocking neurotransmitters in the target muscles, thereby reducing the strength of muscle contraction. This is useful for aesthetic applications, such as wrinkles caused by muscle (e.g. crow’s feet around the eyes, forehead lines), where the contraction of the underlying muscle has caused a crinkling of the overlying skin. By injecting small amounts of this material, the muscle contraction is relaxed, and the overlying skin smooths out.
This material can also be used for therapeutic applications, such as night-time tooth grinding, as it relaxes the overactive muscles of the face contributing to the problem.
The procedure of wrinkle reduction consulation is generally well-tolerated and considered minimally painful. Most people describe the sensation as a slight pinch or stinging sensation at the injection site. Discomfort is usually brief and tolerable. If you have concerns about pain, it’s recommended to discuss them with our treating dentist, Dr Alexandra.
The effects typically last around 3 to 6 months, after which the treated muscles gradually regain their function. To sustain the desired results, regular follow-up treatments are needed. However, the commitment level varies based on individual preferences. Some individuals choose to maintain the effects consistently, while others might space out treatments. There is not one treatment that fits all when it comes to facial rejuvenation. A consultation with Dr Alexandra Davies at Admire Dentistry is required so she can create a bespoke plan for you.
No. These treatments should not be undertaken by women who are pregnant or breastfeeding or who are contemplating doing so. They should be avoided in people with certain underlying medical conditions for which you will be pre-screened.
The majority of minor side effects resulting from treatment have to do with the treatment technique rather than the material itself. These are the same for any treatment you experience and may include redness, soreness, swelling, bruising, bleeding, itching, rash and pain for several days afterwards at the affected area. Dr Alexandra will go through this and any other questions you have during your consultation.
Dr Alexandra consults and treats all her patients individually to ensure she understands your needs and expectations. She always aims to achieve a natural, refreshed look for her patients. Some patients prefer the frozen look, and this can be achieved if desired; however, this isn’t for everyone. Dr Alexandra’s aim is to give you natural-looking results to enhance your overall look. We want friends and family to notice a refreshed new you, but without actually knowing you’ve had “work” done. For your bespoke consultation, please call or book online with Dr Alexandra.
